Ashlar-Vellum is affiliated with the following industry design organizations using drafting and 3D modeling because we feel that they provide a powerful catalyst for all of us to learn from each other and to advance the state of our Arts.

The voice of industrial design, representing the profession to business, government, education, the media and the general public and serving its information and networking needs. Ashlar-Vellum is a National Patron of the Industrial Design Society of America. We attempt to participate in or sponsor as many IDSA national and regional events as possible. We also take an active role in assisting IDSA recognized educational institutions in acquiring our CAD and 3D modeling products through our donation program.

The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design

Established in 1957 to advance the discipline of industrial design at the international level, ICSID is a non-profit, non-governmental organization supported by professional, promotional, educational, associate and corporate member societies on all continents. While at this time Ashlar-Vellum does not have a formal relationship with ICSID, we feel that they are making a significant contribution to the worldwide ID community by providing an essential linking point for the national industrial design societies.

An interdisciplinary design association, founded in 1973 to promote the professional development and understanding of environmental graphic design. Environmental graphic design (EGD) is a diverse field that includes the planning, design and specifying of graphic elements in the built and natural environment. EGD work includes signage, wayfinding systems, mapping, exhibit design, themed environments, retail spaces, sports facilities and campus design. Ashlar-Vellum has participated in the Society for Environmental Graphic Design’s national conference and now that SEDG has started to formalize a program for colleges and universities, we hope to participate via donations of our CAD and 3D modeling products in much the same way that we work with the IDSA.
